The TaylorMade Qi4D is TaylorMade’s current flagship driver, and it leans on a familiar recipe — carbon everywhere, adjustable weighting, and a face built for ball speed — refined rather than reinvented. Here is what actually changed and who it suits.
A Faster, More Aerodynamic Head
TaylorMade re-engineered the head profile to move through the air more efficiently, using advanced simulation to chase ball speed without sacrificing stability. The cornerstone is the 60X Carbon Twist Face, a carbon construction that saves weight versus titanium and, paired with an improved roll radius, delivers more consistent spin across the vertical face. A revised cut-through Speed Pocket protects ball speed and trims spin on low-face strikes.
Dial-In Adjustability
The Qi4D uses TaylorMade’s four-weight Trajectory Adjustment System (two 9g and two 4g weights) to fine-tune flight and spin, plus a 4° loft sleeve to adjust loft, lie, and face angle. It is one of the more configurable heads in the current driver class, which makes a proper fitting worthwhile.
REAX Shafts: Fitting by the Numbers
The headline addition is the REAX shaft-fitting approach, which TaylorMade says is based on more than 11 million shots captured over two decades. The idea is to match a golfer’s rotation rate to the right shaft profile for more centered contact and repeatable speed — a more data-driven path than eyeballing flex alone.
Who It’s For
With its high forgiveness and deep adjustability, the Qi4D targets the broad middle of golfers who want speed without giving up stability on mishits. If you last bought a driver a few seasons ago, the aerodynamic head and carbon face are a meaningful step up — but get fit for loft and shaft to get the most from it.
