How to play

Play own ball, net. On each hole the outright low score is the Ace and the outright high score is the Deuce. The Ace collects the ace bet from every other player; the Deuce pays the deuce bet to every other player, so one player can be paid twice and the Deuce can pay twice. A tie for low means no Ace; a tie for high means no Deuce.

Scoring

The Ace is usually worth twice the Deuce; a $2 Ace and a $1 Deuce is a typical example. With carryovers, an unpaid Ace or Deuce rolls to the next hole and doubles.

Variations

  • 1-to-1 ratio or reversed ratio
  • Aces only (drop the Deuce)
  • No carryovers
  • 2v2 better-ball team version
  • Ties carry over
  • Net scores with handicaps
  • Ace only (no Deuce) for friendlier groups

Tips

  • Avoiding the Deuce is worth as much as chasing the Ace
  • Play with handicaps unless the group is even
  • Great for 5 or 6 players since there are no teams
  • Avoid the Deuce; bogey-free golf is rewarded
  • Handicaps or equal ability are essential

Two live bets every hole and everyone pays attention to the worst score.
