Make par on a par 4 or par 5 without ever touching the fairway.
Named for Arnold Palmer's scrambling. If your tee shot and any subsequent shots never come to rest in the fairway and you still make par, you win an Arnie. Par 3s are excluded so a topped tee shot short of the green can't qualify.
1 dot or unit from each opponent; some groups pay double for a birdie from the rough. Some versions also require missing the green in regulation.
