Also called Hated Holes, Three Hated Holes
Pick the three holes you hate before the round and take an automatic par on them.
Before teeing off each player names three holes, typically one par 3, one par 4 and one par 5 (optional constraint). On those holes the player writes down a par regardless of the actual score. Everything else is scored normally and the lowest total wins. Works as a buddies bet or a tournament format.
Gross (or net) 18-hole total with three automatic pars; lowest wins the bet or pot. Optional side pot on actual scores made on the hated holes.
Three guaranteed pars remove the dread from your nemesis holes.
