Also called Up-and-Down Call, Flaps, Murphies, Bob Murphy, Called up-and-down
Call your up-and-down before you chip; make it and collect, miss and pay.
When a player is off the green, they may announce a Murphy, betting they will get up and down. If they hole the next putt they collect the agreed amount from every other player; if not they pay each of them. Groups either make every call live automatically or let opponents accept or decline. Flaps is the airborne version: call flap while the chip is in the air and an opponent may double before the first bounce.
Fixed amount per Murphy (e.g. $1-$2 per player); doubled Flaps pay twice.
Puts money on the scrambling shots that decide most matches.
