Also called Oozles and Foozles, Ouzles, Oozlum, Oozle-Foozle, Oozy-Foozy
Par-3 bet: closest to the pin wins an oozle, but a three-putt costs a foozle.
On each par 3 the player closest to the hole with the tee shot (must be on the green) is in line for the oozle. Version 1: they win the oozle only by holing out in two putts or fewer, and lose a foozle if they three-putt. Version 2: they win the oozle automatically but also owe a foozle if they three-putt. If nobody hits the green the bet carries to the next par 3.
Oozle = 1 unit from each opponent; foozle = 1 unit to each opponent (often at different values so they don't cancel). 'Wall-to-wall carpeting' (winning every par-3 oozle) doubles the winnings. The UK 'Oozlum' is won by anyone on in regulation who matches or beats par, nearest the flag breaking ties.
Adds jeopardy to the greenie: closest to the pin is only half the job.
