Only the par 3s count; lowest total on them wins.
Play the full round but keep a separate total for the par-3 holes (usually four, so par is 12). Solo, chase your best par-3 total or set a target such as level par. In a group the lowest par-3 total wins the pot, and a greenie for closest to the pin can be layered on.
Four par 3s at par 12: a 13 beats a 15. Common rule: the winner must be par or better to collect, otherwise the pot carries to the next round. Mutt and Jeff counts par 3s and par 5s together, net.
