In common usage it refers to holing a chip or pitch from off the green (a chip-in), evoking Watson's 1982 U.S. Open chip-in at Pebble Beach; treat the definition as group-dependent and confirm before playing.
Usually 1 dot per occurrence, the same value as a chippie; groups that play both Watsons and chippies must decide whether one shot can earn both.
